The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

  The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is a Japanese animated science fiction romance film which first released on July 15, 2006.

  The film was directed by Mamoru Hosoda. The story of the film originally was based on the novel The Girl Who Leapt Through Time written by Yasutaka Tsutsui on 1967 and revised into a new version in the movie.

Main Characters

Makoto Konno 

The leading role of this story.
She got a power called "time- leap" to leap through the time after an accident. 

Chiaki Mamiya

He is one of Makoto's  best friends and he likes Makoto.  

Kosuke Tsuda 

He is also one of Makoto's best friends.
He is a very calm, clever and also gentle person.
And he always stand by Makoto side and guard her.

Plot

  Makoto Konno is a 17 years old high school student.
The story started on July,13. At that day morning, Makoto slept over school.
This supposed to be another oridinary day, but she slept over. When she arrives at school, she got a temporary exam and without any preparation. And also several unhappy things happened.
While she sent assignments to the  science classroom, she found out a mysterious, walnut-shaped object. Actually,this is a machine to enable people have power to leap through time. But at that time, Makoto didn't know.

  After school, on her way home, Makoto rode her bicycle and rode on a down-hill road. The end of this down-hill road is a railroad crossing. When Makoto put the brake of her bike, suddenly the brake just didn't work out.

  The train is coming.

  Today supposed to be another ordinary day. If that so, she wouldn't be late for school, she would not have a temporary exam, her bike would not be broken and she would not die from hit by a train.
Her bike does not stop and hit on the fence of railroad crossing. She flies across the pavement with her bike and fall on the running train.

  Suddenly, strange thing happen.
  Makoto leapt throgh the time. When she woke up, she found herself standing in front of the fence of railroad crossing, with her bike. Next minutes, the train came front the other side and passed by. Nothing happen. She still alive.

  Makoto went to meet her aunt, whom she calls, "witch aunt" and told her everything.
Then, witch aunt told her that is a power calls," time-leap". Makoto used the power to let herself leap through the time and back to the pass few minutes before the train comes.
  Makoto founds out she can use this power if she run fast and jump high in air. Since that,she use the power of time-leap to do some trifle things. For example, she can eat pudding again and again. She can also relive a single karaoke session for several hours.

  One day witch aunt told Makoto that which is good that she use the power only for trifle things. Eventhough, there still may have someone hurt during using the power.
 Things are connect with each other. They usually will not appear in single.

  One day after school, one of Makoto's best friend, Chiaki, told her that he likes her.
Makoto was shock and she couldn't believe his words. In stead of response to Chiaki's affection, Makoto choosed to avoid him because she didn't want their friendship change. So she kept using time-leap to avoid Chiaki's love confession. But every time the end is all the same, she can't avoid his love confession but she still not response.

  Untill one day, a consequences of using time-leaping, the consequence leads Chiaki fell in love with another girl, Makoto realized that this power is not always that perfect.......

Reflection

  The friendship between Makoto, Chiaki and Kosuke I feel very touching. They are always stay together and care for each other that they won't left anyone of them to be alone.
  Also the love between Makoto and Chiaki is touched me, too. Because their love will remind people their youthhood.

"Time waits for no one."

  The main point of this film is this sentence.
Eventhough Makato has the power of time-leaping,but the power still have limited.
In the reality is impossible to leap through the time,
this story remind us even the girl has the power, in the end there still might have regretful things.
All we can do is to live on present and cherish what we have.
Because time waits for no one.
