We Were There(Bokura ga Ita)

We Were There(Bokura ga Ita) is a Japanese romance anime television series.
The anime was original from the manga work illustrated and written by Yuki Obata.
We Were There was directed byAkitaro Daichi and produced by ArtLand. The anime total have 26 episodes and aired from July 3 to December 25, 2006.

Characters

Nanami Takahashi
Nana is a ordinary high school student. She is innocent, muddle-headed but honest and kind to others. She is the leader of the class so that she have chance to interact with Motoharu. At first when all most other girls were attracted by Motoharu, she was not have intertest on him. Yet, after she and Motoharu became friend, she found Motoharu's trauma in heart and helped him to recover. Later on, she gradually fell in love with Motoharu.

Motoharu Yano 

Motoharu Yano is high school student who is popular among girls. He is the classmate of Nanami.  When Motoharu was in junior high, his girlfriend was died with a car accident while went out with another guy. This event cause trauma in his mind.  He also think that the person he loves would often leaves him. So he hardly will trust other people and usually wouldn't dated girls with true heat. Untill, he met Nanami, he gradually overcome his trauma and fell for her.

Masafumi Takeuchi  
Masafumi Takeuchi is Yano's close friend. He has total different personality with Motoharu that he is easygoing and tender. Because of Motoharu, he and Nanami also became friend. Later on, he was attracted by Nanami's kind and honest personality and fell for her.

Yuri Yamamoto
Yuri Yamamoto is the younger sister of Yano's late girlfriend, Nana. She is a quiet girl. Her unrequited love for Yano led her painful. A week after Nana's death, Yano had sex with her. A week after Nana died, Yano had sex with her which he was not truly loves her. Since that her existence would often reminded Yano's trauma. When he developed relationship with Nanami, Yuri often became their obstacle.

Plots

When Motoharu was 15, his girlfriend was died with a car accident while went out with another guy. Since that the event became a trauma in his mind. He often would thought why this happened on him. All that he could bear was way too much than he thought at that time. Even now, the trauma still exist and sometimes really painful.....

This year, Nanami became a high school student. She was the leader of the class. Yet, she found out there were half more girl in her class like the boy, Yana Motoharu. She couldn't understand why they all so obsessed with him. To her point of view, he was just a rude person......

A 2011 live-action film which was an adaption of the manga, Bokura ga Ita and will be released in two parts.
The film stars Ikuta Toma and Yoshitaka Yuriko and directed by Takahiru Miki.
